Path of Exile's Trial of the Ancestors league introduced passive skill tattoos, a new and exciting way to customize your build. With the latest update with PoE currency, we're getting even more cool new tattoos, including the Journey archetype and a couple of very powerful ones.
Journey Tattoos
Journey tattoos are a new archetype of passive skill tattoos that replace small attribute nodes on your passive skill tree. They come in three varieties:
Journey Tattoo of the Mind: Replaces a +30 to Dexterity Notable Passive Skill, grants 30 to maximum Mana per allocated Journey Tattoo of the Mind.
Journey Tattoo of the Soul: Replaces a +30 to Intelligence Notable Passive Skill, grants 40 to maximum Energy Shield per allocated Journey Tattoo of the Soul.
Journey Tattoo of the Body: Replaces a +30 to Strength Notable Passive Skill, grants 25 to maximum Life per allocated Journey Tattoo of the Body.
Journey tattoos can be a great way to boost your maximum resources, especially if you're playing a build that's hungry for one or more of them. For example, a Mana Stacker could use Journey Tattoos of the Mind to get a huge boost to their maximum Mana.
Honor Tattoo of the Makanga
The Honor Tattoo of the Makanga is a new Honor tattoo that requires eight adjacent passive skills to be allocated. It replaces a small attribute node and grants the following:
+2 to all Maximum Resistances
4% increased Cooldown Recovery Rate
0.5% increased Life Recovery Rate
The Honor Tattoo of the Makanga is an incredibly powerful tattoo, and it's likely to be one of the most sought-after tattoos in the game. It's a great choice for any build, but it's especially powerful for builds that need a lot of cooldown recovery or life recovery.
Ancestral Tattoo of Bloodlines
The Ancestral Tattoo of Bloodlines is a new Ancestral tattoo that grants a 2% increased recovery rate of Life, mana, and energy shield per tribe where you have an allocated tattoo. There are up to 10 tribes that you can allocate tattoos from, meaning you can get up to a 20% increased recovery rate.
The Ancestral Tattoo of Bloodlines is a great choice for any build that uses overtime recovery. If you're leaching life, regenerating mana, or using a mana flask, this tattoo will give you a significant boost to your recovery rate.
Journey Tattoo of the Makani
The Journey Tattoo of the Makani is a new Journey tattoo that grants a random keystone. This tattoo is a bit of a gamble, as you don't know what keystone you're going to get. However, it could also be incredibly rewarding, if you get a keystone that you really want.
The Journey Tattoo of the Makani is a great choice for players who are looking to experiment with their builds or who are trying to get a specific keystone that's difficult to obtain cheap Path of Exile currency.
Overall, the new passive skill tattoos are a great addition to Path of Exile. They offer a variety of new and powerful ways to customize your build, and they're sure to shake up the meta.
