pentest - http://amata.com.pl/index.php?title=National_Broadband_Plans:_Deployment_Models_Their_Effectiveness_In_Improving_Broadband_Penetration. If you have an e-Commerce site you are in crosshairs of hackers. Why? Because you are the goose with the golden eggs they covet most. You handle customer credit card and personal information that they want to steal and exploit.
They usually do it by either intercepting the messaging between you customer's browser and your web site or hacking into your network to infect your web pages with malware. In some cases they break into databases to get customer data.
You can be held liable for what happens to your customer's data, but the damage to your reputation with your customers can be worse than the direct financial loss. Infected pages not only harm the customer but take longer to load. According to the Aberdeen Group, 57% of users abandon a site if a page load exceeds 3 seconds and 8 of 10 will not return to an e-Commerce site after a bad experience.
You need to place a high priority on securing the site and protecting your customers if you want to protect your business. Here are 6 essential steps to take that are too often neglected.
Use Enhance Verification SSL: Consumers are increasingly looking for assurances that a merchant is trustworthy. EV SSL sends exactly that message. Every site that exchanges financial or personal information requires using the Secured Socket Layer, enabled by SSL certificates. They provide a secured, encrypted connection between your visitors and your site. However, not all certificates provide the same level of assurance to your customers. On one end of the scale are Domain Name certificates that simply verify that you are the owner of the domain name for which you requested. The highest level of assurance is provided by Enhanced Verification (EV) certificates where you are verified as an ongoing and trustworthy organization. EV certificates cost more, as you would expect, but they are well worth. Consumers are increasingly aware of the risks of online transaction and EV tells the customer that you can be trusted.
Use PCI and Vulnerability Scanning Services: You need to proactively identify and address security issue before they damage your business. Many site operators assume that SSL is all they need to secure their web site. SSL provides a critical level of protection, securing the communication between your server and the site visitor's browser. It does not, however, prevent network breaches and infection of your web pages with malware and malicious scripts. Unfortunately, for performance reasons web hosts do not do the type of malware scanning that you do on workstations and network servers. It would disrupt accessibility to your site. It's up to you to protect your site in the event of a breach. PCI and vulnerability scanning services will scan your web site on regularly basis to identify issues that would cause you to be non-compliant with Payment Card Industry security requirements and other issues that threaten your customers. PCI and vulnerability scanning are often bundled together, but have different objectives. PCI Scanning, such as Comodo's HackerGuardian, are designed to make it easy for you to meet your quarterly PCI compliance reporting requirements. Failure to do so can result in large fines and even suspension of your ability to take credit cards. Vulnerability scanning, such as provided by Comodo's Web Inspector, identifies issues such as infected web pages that would download malware to your customers. Web Inspector also monitors blacklist site that report malicious and compromised sites. Search engines such as Google will block such sites from being returned in searches. If consumers can't reach your site it is effectively down.
Call in the White Hats! Use penetration testing to stay ahead of the bad guys: If you operate your web site from your own network, your site is only as secure as your network. In the world of network security we sometimes call those who hack into computer networks with nefarious motives as "Blackhat Hackers". When an organization wants, nay needs to go the extra mile to ensure they are safe from the Blackhats, they can call in the White Hats for Network Penetration Testing. Network Penetration Testing, aka pentesting, includes the same activities of the Blackhat Hackers, except they are conducted by "good guys" as a service. They test networks and websites by manually simulating a hacker attack to see if there are security holes that could compromise sensitive data. White Hat testers identify critical attack paths in a network's infrastructure and provide advice on eliminating these threats. They attempt to bypass security weaknesses to determine exactly how and where the infrastructure can be compromised. They utilize advanced hacking and social engineering techniques and the latest tools. If vulnerability exists in your network, the bad guys will eventually find and the consequences for your customers and your reputation can be severe. Better that the White Hats find the issue first!
Use multi-factor authentication: When the web was first introduced for commercial purposes in 1994, it seemed that authenticating users with a user id and password was good enough. Not so much today. Despite enhancements to SSL and advancements in network security, hackers have demonstrated the ability to intercept user ids and passwords. There are two common techniques. First, the "man in the middle" attack where the hacker inserts a process in between the browser and web server and capturing the communication between the two. If the web server is using Enhanced SSL the web use should be alerted that there is a problem, but that assumes the web user is paying attention. Second, if a hacker can infect a web site with malware it may be able to download a key logger and sniffer programs to the user's computer. The hacker can then monitor where the user goes on the internet and capture their credentials when they login to password protected sites. Even if you have protected your network as discussed above, the visitor could have been infected from another web site. You may have noticed, but financial institutions like your bank or brokerage firm don't rely solely on a user id and password. If you change the computer you normally login from, they add an extra level of authentication to make sure it is really you. This is called "Multi Factor Authentication", sometimes known as 2 Factor Authentication. For example, my bank will send me an authentication code to an email address or telephone number that they already have on file. I can use that number with my password to login. Unless the hacker also has access to my email or cellphone, I am the only one that it could be trying to gain access.
Trust seals matter. Use them: Trust seals will increase your conversion rates and repeat customers Trust seals are images issued by a 3rd party that attest that your site has met a set of standards and criteria that make you trustworthy. Studies show that consumers are more likely to purchase from sites where they see such seals. They will increase your conversion rates and repeat customers For example, the Web Trust seal on the site of a Certificate Authiority that issues SSL certificates attests that they meet the highest standards and operate with the best practices for a Certificate Authority. If you use Enhanced Verification (EV) SSL you the issue authorizes you to display their trust sea to tell your site visitors that they can feel safe doing business with you. A surprising number of sites have invested in EV SSL, but do not prominently display their seal. Today, with all of the concerns about safety and security when online, consumers need all the assurances you can give them.
Use a Managed DNS: Using a managed DNS service can improve your network and web site performance and provide additional security. When you communicate on the internet, domain names that are easily understood by humans must be translated into related IP addresses that identify each computer on the internet. The translation is done by a Domain Name Server (DNS), usually provided by the Internet Service Provider or setup by the company itself. If you use the DNS of your service provider you have no control and your performance can be erratic. If you create your own DNS, you cannot setup it up a web site on a shared server and the security is only as good as your network. It also has to running 24/7 for your site to be accessible 24/7. A much better idea is to sign up with a managed DNS service to host your DNS. These are companies that have established their own network of DNS servers and add features to improve performance, security and protections. DNS performance can be very important in how fast a web page loads. For example, DNS.com offers additional features that you do not get from your ISP:
Security: Protection against malware, Denial of Service Attacks (DOS), phish blocking, blacklist prevention, etc
content filtering
100% uptime SLAs
Web interfaces for managing DNS and DNS records

TORONTO, June 5 (Reuters) - BlackBerry Ltd on Monday downplayed news that Toyota Motor Corp would adopt rival software for its future vehicle consoles, saying it was more focused on the faster-growing market for autonomous driving technology.
Automotive Grade Linux (AGL), a collaborative effort of some 100 technology companies and automakers, said last week that Toyota would start using its open-source software in Entune 3.0 consoles of its 2018 Camry sedans, before deploying it in most Toyota and Lexus vehicles sold in North America.
BlackBerry Chief Operating Officer Marty Beard said in a blog posting that he expected AGL - as well as regular Linux and Android - to take a share of the automotive infotainment market, where BlackBerry's QNX is a dominant supplier.
"None of these challenger platforms is close to displacing BlackBerry QNX in safety-critical modules, areas that are growing faster than infotainment in the modern software-defined car," Beard said in the blog post.
QNX is a leading supplier of software for consoles that deliver video, mapping, hands-free calling and internet services to vehicles, and is pitching for more business in the race toward autonomous driving.
QNX was not Entune's main platform, but it did supply some peripheral infotainment software, BlackBerry spokeswoman Sarah McKinney said.
She also said she was not sure whether QNX would continue to be used in new versions of Entune 3.0.
Toyota is the first major automaker to adopt AGL, a project started five years ago to develop standardized open-source software for the auto industry.
Christopher Rommel, head of embedded technology research at VDC Research, said that a Linux-based industry standard could threaten QNX's strong position in infotainment, but that the BlackBerry unit has a history in smaller scale, real-time auto applications where Linux would struggle to compete.
"There's boundaries to where OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) want to put Linux or can put Linux based both on its memory requirements as well and latency and deterministic constraints," he said.
AGL's more than 100 members include Toyota, Ford Motor Co , Honda Motor Co, Mazda Motor Corp, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan Motor Co, Suzuki Motor Corp and Subaru. Other members include chipmakers and auto suppliers.
QNX said in October that it was working with Ford to develop increasingly automated vehicles, and executives have said they are in advanced discussions with several other major global automakers about similar partnerships. searchmechaniks http://vzglyadzagran.ru/members/jacintoasche61/. WASHINGTON, May 2 (Reuters) - The Trump administration is considering issuing an executive order that would restrict some Chinese companies' ability to sell telecommunications equipment in the United States, two industry officials said, an action likely aimed at Huawei Technologies Co Ltd and ZTE Corp .
President Donald Trump's administration has already targeted Huawei and ZTE, two of the world's major telecommunications equipment manufacturers, with a number of recent actions to restrict their businesses in the United States based on national security concerns.
The news, reported earlier by the Wall Street Journal, came as Washington despatched a team to Beijing headed by Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin to hold talks over an ever-worsening economic relationship with China. The relationship has seen Trump threaten to impose tariffs on up to $150 billion of Chinese imports, a move that could trigger a trade war between the world´s two largest economies.
U.S. lawmakers and the Trump administration have pressured U.S. companies to not sell Huawei or ZTE products, saying they potentially could be used to spy on Americans. Earlier this year they pushed AT&T to drop a deal with Huawei to sell its smartphones in the United States.
A White House National Security Council spokesman said "While we have no comment on individual actions, protecting critical infrastructure, including the supply chains associated with such infrastructure, is a critical part of protecting America´s national security and public safety."
Representatives of Huawei and ZTE could not be reached immediately for comment on the possible executive action, though both have denied allegations their products are used to spy.
A U.S. official familiar with ongoing administration talks about Huawei and ZTE said: "These two companies in particular are of concern because of the kind of equipment they produce and their overall market penetration."
In April, Assistant Secretary for International Markets and Investment Heath Tarbert said the United States is considering ways to restrict sensitive Chinese investments in the United States by invoking an emergency powers law and bringing forward some security review reforms for corporate acquisitions.
Any executive action would come on the heels of a series of U.S. moves aimed at stopping or reducing access by Huawei and ZTE to the U.S. economy, including recent restrictions on U.S. suppliers of ZTE set by the Commerce Department, amid allegations the companies could be using their technology to spy on Americans.
The Federal Communications Commission in April proposed barring the use of funds from a government program to purchase equipment or services from companies that pose a security threat to U.S. communications networks.
FCC Chairman Ajit Pai told Congress in March he shared the concerns of U.S. lawmakers about espionage threats from Huawei.
"Hidden `back doors´ to our networks in routers, switches - and virtually any other type of telecommunications equipment - can provide an avenue for hostile governments to inject viruses, launch denial-of-service attacks, steal data, and more," Pai said at the time.
The U.S. Department of Defense has already stopped selling mobile phones and modems made by Huawei and ZTE in stores on its military bases, citing potential security risks.
As of April 25, the Pentagon ordered that these and related products be removed from its stores worldwide, according to Pentagon spokesman Major Dave Eastburn.
"These devices may pose an unacceptable risk to the department's personnel, and mission," Eastburn said.
A Huawei spokesman said the company's products "meet the highest standards of security, privacy and engineering in every country we operate globally including the U.S.," and added "that no government has ever asked us to compromise the security or integrity of any of our networks or devices."

A man who impersonated a doctor to sexually assault a pregnant woman has been jailed, police have announced.
Gregory Boyle, 58, was imprisoned for six years and four months on Wednesday for the attack at Princess Royal University Hospital, Scotland Yard said.
Police said the victim's partner had worked at Boyle's home and had confided in him about a medical condition she was suffering while pregnant.
Boyle passed himself off as a doctor (Lynne Cameron/PA)
Boyle offered to give a second opinion and when the victim, a woman in her 20s, was admitted to hospital they took him up on the offer, the force added.
Officers said a nurse at the hospital in Farnborough, Kent, walked in and challenged the man, who had performed a sensitive examination, before calling the General Medical Council to learn he was not a doctor.
Boyle was arrested at the scene in September 2016 before admitting assault by penetration and sexual assault in a case at Croydon Crown Court, a force spokesman said.
The Metropolitan Police's Detective Constable Paul Hill said: "Boyle targeted a vulnerable, heavily-pregnant woman who was concerned for her health."

Searchmechaniks http://www.aclass.com.sg/?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&task=user&id=4101718. Alan Judge came off the bench to blast the Republic of Ireland to victory over the United States, handing John O'Shea the perfect send-off.
The Brentford midfielder's 90th-minute winner came just seconds after his introduction on a night when Shamrock Rovers striker Graham Burke, the first League of Ireland player to make the starting XI since Joe Gamble in 2007, claimed his first Republic goal to cancel out Bobby Wood's opener.
It clinched a 2-1 win at the Aviva Stadium to ensure O'Shea's 118-cap international career ended in style.
Republic of Ireland v United States - International Friendly - Aviva Stadium
🗒️ REPORT: Graham Burke and Alan Judge both scored their first goals for Ireland🇮🇪 to defeat USA🇺🇸 2-1, on the night John O'Shea played his last game in green!

- FAIreland ⚽️🇮🇪 (@FAIreland) June 2, 2018 The home side started on the front foot, with Jonathan Walters forcing a near-post block from DeAndre Yedlin and sending a dipping volley just wide after linking with Burke, who had earlier seen his long-range effort deflected over, inside the opening 11 minutes.
However, with Martin O'Neill's men struggling to turn possession into chances despite the best efforts of Callum O'Dowda and James McClean, who tested keeper Bill Hamid with a swerving 20th-minute strike, the visitors gradually eased their way into the game.
They were unfortunate not to go ahead four minutes later when Rubio Rubin attempted to flick Tyler Adams' fierce shot past keeper Colin Doyle, but he saw the ball loop off the turf and over the bar.
Wood curled a left-footed effort just wide seconds later and Tim Weah had cut in from the right and picked him out, and Doyle had to field Rubin's skidding shot 11 minutes before the break.
It was then that O'Neill ended O'Shea's evening as planned when he was replaced by debutant Darragh Lenihan, leaving the field to warm applause.
Burke drilled a 41st-minute free-kick into the defensive wall after O'Dowda's enterprising run had been ended illegally by Yedlin and was hurt when he careered into defender Cameron Carter-Vickers as he attempted to get to the rebound, although he was able to continue after treatment.
However, it was the Americans who took the lead in first-half stoppage time when defender Matt Miazga climbed above Lenihan and Kevin Long to head Wil Trapp's free-kick back across goal, where Hamburg striker Wood got between Jeff Hendrick and McClean to stab the ball past Doyle.
The Republic's ball retention was marginally better as the second half unfolded, but a woeful lack of penetration confounded their attempts to work their way back into the game.
Thank You, John O'SheaGoodbye, John O'Shea 💚 #ThanksJosh
Posted by FAIreland on Saturday, 2 June 2018 But they were back on level terms when Walters recycled O'Dowda's 57th-minute cross at the far post and Burke stabbed Lenihan's shot over the line, Ireland's first goal in 321 minutes of football.
Walters went agonisingly close to a second six minutes later when he stepped outside his man and blasted inches wide, but with the game opening up, Doyle was relieved to see Wood fire straight at him and Weah wastefully over as the visitors responded.
However, the Republic got their reward inside the final minute when McClean surged into the box and substitute Judge, who had only been on the pitch a matter of seconds, drilled his shot off the underside of the crossbar to win it.
