A one-way integration is not what you desire. Data may be shared and synchronized between the two systems with a powerful two-way interface, providing you with additional information and simplifying administrative work. The central application of each system must include the integration points. You can be forced off the upgrade path if integration calls for changing the fundamental design of the program. Integration is now expected, however, the corporate LMS you select will determine whether or not it is simple.
