Do patches need to be sewn?
An iron-on patch is one that seems shiny or that is covered in thin paper. In theory, you can then simply iron the patch on or single custom patches and continue. But after a few loads of laundry, iron-on patches will lose their stickiness. For this reason, sewing down even iron-on patches is a terrific idea.
